Christmas Tree Picking

This is something Tim and I started with Miller. We took him to Curry's tree farm in Start when he was only 6 months old. Crazy I know. I believe he liked it then, and I know he loves it now. I included a pic from each year! I seemed to have misplaced last years pic. I can't remember if I was still pregnant or had a 1 week old when we picked it out. I don't think Davis made the trip! This year, he cried all the way to Start and back. He was fine out of the car. I hope he's not starting a bad habit. Miller always cried in the car, and Davis never has. Weird. Both of the boys loved playing the the corn box (like sand). Davis only tried to eat two kernals. We can't wait to go back next year! We love our live Christmas Trees! (I found the pics!! - inserted accordingly)

Davis' 1st Birthday!!

Happy Birthday little man! We had a great time at your birthday! 40 of our closest friends and relatives came to wish you a happy birthday! You loved the attention when everyone was singing to you. You LOVED the cake. Can't wait to see what the next year brings!

Happy Halloween!

Kathleen(my sister-in-law) and I planned a Fun Halloween party for all the kiddos. We all had a great time. We decorated cookies, went bobbing for donuts, decorated pumpkins, had a jump house and plenty of sugar to eat! After-wards, we trick-or-treated together around the neighborhood thanks to Keith & Shelia Howard and their trailer. After trick-or-treating we went back to Keith and Shelia's for Chili and Hot Dogs. Yum! Keith's mexican chili was awesome! I just wanted to say Thanks to my aunt Lynn. She made Davis' costume. On short notice. He was so cute in it. You can't believe how hard it is to find a prisoner suit for infants. Maybe they think thats in bad taste. Oh Well! Thanks Sissy!!

The treat bags were witch's brooms!

All our yummy treats!

Officer Miller Holt and his trustee - Davis.

Decorating Cookies! The cookies were a hit of the party. They were made by Two Friends catering in Transylvania, LA!

Trying to escape!!

They just couldn't get the picture taking down right

Fancy Nancy Decorating her Pumpkin. (Caroline)

Jack really didn't comprehend the bobbing part!

A Mystery

This morning I discovered ink pen drawings on my twill couch!! I ask Miller if he knew who did it? This is the conversation that followed:
"Not Me" was his reply.
I said, "do you think Davis did it? Because if he did, he's in trouble and he may need a spanking." Miller just looked at me with wide eyes.
I said, "I'm going to go in that back and spank Davis. OK Miller?"
"Don't do that Mama, he's just a baby and he will be scared. I don't think he did it anyway."
"Well", I replied, "who do you think did it"? "
"Maybe somebody came in our house when we weren't here and did it. I guess it's a mystery."
"Let's call your Daddy and make sure it wasn't him."
"OK"
After calling Tim, and asking him very exaggeratedly if he did it (He didn't) I told Miller that we needed to report this break-in and vandalism to the Police. I called John Clinton. (my cousin that is a Sheriff's deputy - as far as Miller is concerned, he is the Sheriff) John was cracking up as I gave him the recount of the morning's events. Miller was listening to both conversations very intently. I got off the phone and told Miller that the Sheriff's department was going to look into the matter.
"Mama"?
"What Miller"?
"I think I know who did it"?
"You Do"? I thought, he was going to confess.
"yes ma'am, I think it was Uncle Bo.

Maybe he'll be an actor. He's almost got me thinking maybe it wasn't him!

Miller's 1st LSU game!

Visiting Mike

Don't I look cool! Uncle Steve would be so proud of my visor!

Mike and the cheerleaders!

We love cotton candy! Waiting on the band to march down the field and the tigers to run out!!
We had a blast! Miller liked the band, but wasn't so sure about all the people. Tim had to carry him a lot! The game didn't start until 6 and we were early. We got there at 5:15. By kickoff we had already eaten a slice of cookie cake, pepperoni pizza and cotton candy! After the first quarter Miller was ready to go. Well, we kinda were too. ULL wasn't much of a game. Miller loved seeing the "real" mike and Mike's cage and statue! He said his favorite part of the whole trip was seeing the fish in our hotel lobby. They had a koi fish pond. Oh well.

Jamboree

Miller, Caroline and Jack at the Briarfield - Tallulah Jamboree. They could not have cared about the game less. They ran around in the gravel chasing each other. The first pic is their silly face. They second is their happy face.

Cupcakes

Since Tim is harvesting we have lots of time to ourselves. Davis, Miller and I decided to surprise Tim with cupcakes the other night. Miller did most of it all by himself. We washed his hands, poured the egg and water (with me measuring), cracked the eggs and even used the beaters. He had to have a little help pouring the batter into the pans. Davis busied himself eating ritz crakcers. Miller's favorite part was licking the bowl. Whose isn't?? The last two pics are of Davis right after his bath. Miller was still in the bath. Davis is getting really good at playing with/around Miller. He's content as long as I am sitting watching him. If I try to go throw the clothes in the dryer, he's right after me. Maybe he likes an audience.

Bridget's Wedding

In July my very good friend Bridget got married in Natchez, MS. Here are a few pics from that weekend.

The Bridesmaids Luncheon was held at the Natchez Coffee Company. It was fun to catch up and the food was great!

Me and Tim at the rehearsal dinner. It was at the Castle in Natchez

Me and my friend Mary Elizabeth

This is the only pic I got at the actual wedding. My camera died. I thought Miller looked precious in his tie. This was the first time he's ever worn one.

A busy Sunday

Today was a busy day. Not productive busy, but fun busy. We, (Miller, Tim and I) went to visit the sandbar at the new hunting camp. It was a bit muddy as you can see from the road. We had to ride the ranger in.

Miller loves swinging on the old rope swing. It is so high. I don't know how they hung it. It is literally that high in the tree.

Miller in Tim drawing in the sand on the sandbar on the Mississippi river.

We also went fishing on Uncle Bo's dock. Miller caught a catfish and a brim. Don't worry Mr. Game warden. He has his Lifetime hunting and fishing license already. (thanks Uncle Steve)

\
Davis - not to be forgotten was having a leisurely afternoon of napping with his BB. This face cracks me up.

Davis 8 months!

I know i always say this, but I can't believe Davis is 8 months old. Time has really flown with him. I don't remember is going this fast with Miller. Maybe because Davis is such a good baby. He is starting to eat finger foods and is really enjoying "real" food. he loves instant potatoes, pudding, rolls, ritz crackers and anything from a cup. He is crawling on all fours too! He can say Da Da Da, Ba Ba Ba, and Ma Ma Ma. I love it!! Miller always tries to get Davis to say Mill-er Mill-er. It's funny.

Sitting up in the bath!

Feeding himself a cookie. That's Chocolate pudding all over his face

Loving the pool! He looks so much like Tim.

Random Summer Pics

My dear friend Olivia put on a song and dance hour (Olivia - I'm sure that is not what you titled it, but that's the best I can do) at the East Carroll Parish Library a few weeks ago. I took Miller and Davis to it and they loved it. Miller loved learning about all the cool musical instruments and Davis just likes being around a bunch of people. I graduated high school with Olivia and watching her teach the kids (she's a music teacher) all about rhythm and instruments was really a full circle moment for me.

Miller loves Mondays - that's the day I don't work. For those of you that don't know - my mom and I own a gift shop in downtown Lake Providence. Check it out at http://printscharming13.blogspot.com. We do all sorts of stuff from monogramming to wedding invitations. OK - back to Miller. The kid loves his Daddy. We went to the farm and "helped" disc the bean field. Davis stayed at mamas for all those wondering (you know who you are)

Miller is now officially an almost swimmer. That's the technical term I made up for him. He could swim to the side and climb out if he accidentally fell in the pool - But he prefers the security of floaties. Maybe I'll set aside some of the spare time I have to upload the video I shot of him swimming. We'll see.

An update on my children for all my various Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends(BTW that's how miller says his prayers - God bless Mama, Daddy, Miller, Davis BB, Papa, Gee Gee, Pop and all my aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He has lots of family and
its a time saver really (that last part was from Curly Sue if any one followed that.)

Back to the kids -

Davis - can sit up now from a lying position. He also is almost crawling. He can pivot pretty well on his hands and knees, but can't move. He goes into a push up position and then falls. He looks like he's doing the inchworm and that's about how far he moves too. He takes 3 naps a day and 4 bottles. He wakes up with the sun - which is getting earlier and earlier. today it was 6:15. He goes to bed around 8:15. He LOVES Miller. Miller can say "door knob" and Davis thinks he's Jerry Seinfeld. I mean, belly laughs. His favorite foods are anything I give him. He doesn't care - he's an easy baby. Hot, cold, peas, prunes - he likes it all. He has 6 teeth!

Miller on the other hand loves to be entertained. He loves anything to do with the farm and he loves swimming. If I had a nickel for every time he said "Mama", not only would I be rich, but I would have a very funny occupation. He is always underfoot and asks millions of questions. I know some of you are saying - oh that's all 3 year olds - don't. I don't wanna hear it. My 3 year old is different. He's brilliant. Ask his grandparents or Aunts. He asked the other day "where did the radio come from"? I replied, "it came with the car". "No", he said, "the music"? "Oh, the speakers". "No, mama (another 5 cents) how does the music get out of the speakers"uhhh... radio waves that travel through the air". He says, "kinda like the ocean". "kinda" i said. Now i'm thinking - uh oh - i don't really know much more. He says, "how do they get in the air? " my reply, "the radio station plays the music and big satellites and towers catch the waves. the radio turns them back into music so we can hear them". whew - at least i think that's right. "oh", he says......."Mama"(10 cents) "what Miller?" "Can we go to the farm"? "yes we can"...good luck Tim...at least Tim can answer all the farming questions. remind me to tell you later about the conversation that started with "Mama, (another nickel)where does God live"...its too cute!
